About Me

By day, I'm a copy editor and audio transcriber for a company in Farringdon (I work from home/out and about). By night, I'm a musical comedian.

I used to be a singer of sad folk songs, but 9 months ago decided to dedicate my music to making people laugh rather than cry.

All is going very well, I headlined the comedy stage at a big festival in June, I'm doing an ongoing sketch show with regional BBC radio and the next big job is to get lot's and lot's of stage time!

So, I'm moving from Norwich where I've been based for the last year, to the bright lights of London, one of the best places in the world for live comedy (and also my favorite city - I went to uni in Greenwich).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm moving back to London to pursue a career in comedy (there aren't many gigs in Norwich) and I'm looking for fun places to stay while I find a permanent home.

Interests

Live music and comedy, exercise (running and cross-training), cooking (although I prefer eating) and meditation and mindfulness. Also a bit of a radio 4 and news junkie!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Led Zeppelin and Radiohead come to mind (I rediscovered OK Computer today, so beautiful!) but recently I just put on BBC 6 music and I'm never disappointed!
Movies: Apocalypse Now. Blade Runner.
Books: I am Legend, The Alchemist

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can say the first 108 chemical elements (i.e. Tom Lehrer's 'Element Song') in one breath in 35 seconds - which is probably a record! I'm hoping to set a new world record for saying the whole periodic table in one breath later in the year (only 16 more elements to go - eek!).

Teach, Learn, Share

If you like comedy, you could come along to gigs with me.
As a fairly competent guitarist, I could teach you your first chords (or maybe help you brush up on your old skillz).

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, France, Morocco, Spain
