Hello,

I seriously considered allowing one of my friends to write this but figured it would be safer and less embarrassing writing it myself.

Primarily, I am a Yorkshireman. This means that I occasionally say words/phrases you won't understand. I am also half Italian, which means I like food, coffee and gesticulating a lot with my hands!

I've just started growing my beard again because it keeps me warm in winter.
Here are a few facts about beards:
-Stroking of beard increases cognitive function and concentration
-Lets you instinctively know where the nearest mountain is
-Natural bear repellent when camping or wandering in the woods

Travel wise, I'm currently on a 6 month sabbatical from my job and have so far been through SE Asia and Australia. I'm now in the USA for the latter and longest part of my solo escapade!

I love meeting people and socialising but can also be very independent and don't need babying! Haha. I have a very dry sense of humour. Sarcasm is second nature! Hopefully we can meet up :)

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

My brother has spoken to me about Couchsurfing so many times and he can't praise it highly enough. He always makes a point of how welcoming people are and it comes down to the fact that I trust his judgement.
Thus, I've decided to give it a go myself and see how i get on :)

Ok, so rather than asking people what they like listening to (because the usual answer is "I like anything") I tend to ask what 3 artists they would choose (dead or alive) if they had their own private little gig. My three would be:
- Arctic Monkeys
- Johnny Cash
- Ray Lamontagne

On a night out, I'll listen to pretty much anything i can sing and dance to (that includes Taylor Swift! ;) haha).

There's nothing that compares to seeing a Grizzly Bear at the side of a road when you least expect it (see photos). Unbelievable moment.

Give me a kitchen and a few basic ingredients and I'll cook us a classic Yorkshire or Italian meal :)
