About Me

I don't have a lot of experience with Couchsurfing but I know that couchsurfers sometimes need to struggle with people who arrives, drops their bags down wherever they please and then before they get too settled they’re out the door with a map. Couchsurfers also need to struggle with people who comes back at the night and day, barely says hello, and in some cases stays for a week without barely saying a word between going from the front door to their room. I'm not able to comprehend people who doesn't respect someone's property, who doesn't respect someone's time and who treats host as hotel workers. It’s not fair on the host, and not fair on the rest of the community who do treat the people they stay with not just politely but with an interest in learning about them, their local life and their perspective. As a traveller I strive to remember that it’s more than likely that hosts have a full-time job or work commitments that take up a large amount of their time. It’s also costing them their time to read requests and their personal space if they will decide to host someone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is a great opportunity to meet nice people and to take a look "behind the scenes", not only getting the prepared tourist-stuff, plus it is a very cost-efficient way to get around.

On the other hand, hosting guests is awesome to make new friends and listen to some cool stories, but also get inspiration for own travel-projects.

Interests

My main interest is to travel. I have the opportunity to do so at the moment and I will most definitely take advantage of that fact.
