Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Raise money for to enable everyone - especially those who would not otherwise be able - to appreciate and participate in artistic and cultural activities. Get to know Birmingham, my new home.
ABOUT ME
I was born in South London, and I've also lived in Thanet, Nottingham, Calais and Nice.
I want to meet people and see their country (or adopted country!) through their eyes.
I'm learning to drive but I prefer walking, cycling and train journeys.
PHILOSOPHY
Equality. Community. Respect for nature. Kindness. Gleaning.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm a couchsurfer, but would also like to host people when I'm settled in Brum.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I explored the South of France with two friends about six years ago, and we couchsurfed with anyone who had enough space!
My favourite memory was a beach party in Montpellier, where someone played Tryo on the guitar and we danced on the sand, drinking rum infused with raisins and cinnamon. I wish I hadn't closed my account and lost those friends!
I've couchsurfed in Denmark too, which was ace.
Interests
Gardens, local food, British folk history, Trappiste beer, train journeys, documentaries, French directors Céline Sciamma, Agnès Varda and André Téchiné.
I love music (especially: all sorts of folk, disco and indie pop, The Wave Pictures, Chic, Prince, Sigur Rós, Animal Collective, Grimes), dancing, writing and journalism.
