ABOUT ME

I am 31 years old, from the coastal mountains of Santa Cruz California. Grew up a lover of nature, sports and ...friends/family of course. Have spent my life changing from passion to passion...which I love doing. First reading...then sports....basketball and then surfing and now well mountaineering I suppose...outdoors....hiking. I have been lucky enough to travel a few brief times before this trip and was determined to set off on a grand adventure as soon as money/time allowed. I graduated university in construction science and worked for a commercial contractor for a few years to gather up funds. It was difficult and not enjoyable. I will find something more pure on my return with out a doubt. ...Anyways, now I love travel, learning about all things....cultures...cooking....nature...language....history. I hope to be a teacher when I return. Not sure what else to say. Loving life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new but hope to participate on both ends. I live in an old decrepade but magical house on the ocean in San Francisco, CA, I can't wait to share this and my hometown with travelers on my return. ....anyway, absolutely enthused by this idea. I will be using this more to make cultural exchange...friends.... than for the free couch as I have a tent and could just set that up for pretty low cost. Hope to make friends and learn about peoples hometowns and lives direct from the source.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None. Just have heard about it through numberous friends throughout my travel thus far. Finally realized how ingenious it really is. ...also learned to speak spanish...which is critical.

Interessen

Nowadays, I am enthused about nature, culture, geography....music, dancing, construction...farming....many things. I have always been interested in sports...have been a avid surfer on the north coast of California for the last 15 years.....have traveled alot as a surfer as well...Mexico, central americal etc.....but now I just want to travel for culture and everything else it offers.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Music: Reggea, Jazz, Soul, american folk, rock and roll, classic rock, some new rock, some rap, Cumbia!! just about all latin american folkloric music, a bunch of Brazilian music I don't even know the names of yet. ...basically all music. love collecting it as I travel.
Books: Adventures of Huck Finn, Giver, On the Road, Cannery Row...Don't really leasure read so much these days...but love to. so little time. need to make more for this.
Movies: Don't really watch them much, but love them....Forest Gump, Shashank Redemption, Dazed and Confused, Big Lebowski,Star Wars, Dumb and Dumber

I tended to 300 llama for a couple of days while hitchhiking though the mountains of the puna.

I worked on a potato farm in northern argentina

I have traveled to the most remote, beautiful, untouched places in Bolivia to help build schools/hospital. I have seen some of the most beautiful unforgettable images in this venture that I will surely never forget til the day I dye.
