Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm just starting out in this thing called the Real World, but I find all my efforts and savings are going into ways that I can start traveling again. Currently, I'm couchsurfing with the hopes of graciously snagging friendly people's couches across the world. Eventually (when I'm not living out of a suitcase), I'd be more than happy to host travelers like myself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed with a friend once in Edinburgh and had the most amazing time! We were hosted by a wonderful, friendly, worldly, generous couple who lived in a fishing village just half an hour by bus into the city. Perfection.

High Fidelity, Atonement, Memoirs of a Geisha, Harry Potter...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There's just such an overwhelmingly positive feeling when exploring another country for the first time and seeing the sights. When I first saw places like Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, and St. Paul's Cathedral in London, I nearly cried at how beautiful it all was, and how desperately I'd wanted to see it all my life.

More recently, I got the chance to see the majesty of the Austrian alps where I experienced overwhelming beauty, the quaint village, and complete peacefulness. (As well as all the Sound of Music flashbacks I could handle.)

Teach, Learn, Share

My interests definitely fall into the line of the "artsy fartsy" realm. I love talking about theatre, design, and advertising/social media, and am still figuring out how to work my camera. (Any help would be greatly appreciated!)

History, tourist traps, hole-in-the-wall areas only the locals know about, nightlife, good food (on a budget!), etc. I'm game for anything I can see/do/learn. Bring on the new experiences.
