About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To expand upon the happy circumstances of my having good friends in great places, so I can crash on even more couches. Also, to introduce people to Cleveland and the surrounding areas, so people can start to see how awesome this place can actually be.
ABOUT ME
I'm a Customs Broker in my late 20s that loves travel as well as finding local places to hang out in, between trips. Overall, I like variety in just about everything--it's in my approach to travel, food, books, etc.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new at this and still seeing how I fit in. I like to wade into things so for now I'd just like to meet fellow travelers in the Land of Cleve and find people in this area to travel with. Or find people to meet for drinks in areas I'd travel to. I am open to actual couchsurfing with the right person(s) but have the usual concerns most people would have, so I will need to be more comfortable with this site and community before I take that step. It's looking promising, however.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My three closest friends all moved away from Cleveland so I regularly surf their couches. I also was in a LDR with a guy that moved to Silicon Valley for a while. So...maybe I could expand upon this theme?
Interests
All kinds of stuff. Seriously.
Ok, more specifically: eating/drinking, coffee, hiking, camping (though I am a newbie), music festivals and concerts, movies, cooking, health food, online shopping, Renaissance faires and other period-specific events, meditation, philosophy/comparative religion, intl trade debates, politics (liberal/libertarian/centrist mostly; especially civil rights, economics, Church-State separation and secular politics, etc.), writing, and other things I will think of later because I somehow obviously forgot them.
And, well, travel. Duh.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite movies: split between The Wicker Man (the old version) and The Seventh Seal. Favorite book might be The Picture of Dorian Grey, Four Arguments for the Elimination of Television, or 1984, but I am less certain of this.
I hop around genres a lot, but here's a general brain-dump of some of my main interests.
Also a fan of Lovecraft, Dune, anything Sci-fi (especially by Orwell). And yes, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter when my brain doesn't want something too challenging.
Some philosophy esp. Ayn Rand, Nietzsche, the Stoic philosophers, etc. None of these by themselves sum up all my thoughts here but they are a good start.
Just recently read a book by Dawkins on evolutionary theory and thinking I should read more books in the science section.
I also like a few self-development titles (Influence:The Psychology of Persuasion and the Four Hour Workweek are some recent examples).
In music, I have had a long standing interest in electronic music, starting with 1990s industrial rock (NIN, Marilyn Manson, etc.) and now veering more towards New Wave (esp. Siouxie Sioux, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode...) and Skrillex. I've mellowed over the years and like a lot more classic rock (Heart, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, The Clash, The Eagles...) and some modern western (not country) like Slim Cessna's Auto Club and 16 Horsepower. And so on.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Saw Stonehenge and cried. And I'm not a woo-woo kind of person, either. It was just that awesome.

Might fill this in later. Stay tuned.
