ABOUT ME

We have just moved from Seattle to Aberdeen, Scotland for a new job. Prior to that my daughter and I lived in Chennai, India for a year while I did research for my PhD. I learned a lot both through my work and through living abroad. Couchsurfing was integral to my adjustment and I am forever thankful to the Chennai CS folks.

PHILOSOPHY

I am all about deconstruction because only when there are no answers can we really think.

I love to host people, and would especially encourage travelers with children. Maybe that can be my goal with CS2: to encourage connectivity between parents who want to see the world with their kids.

I hosted a lot of folks while I was in India, but have yet to surf with anyone else.

Músicas, Filmes e Livros

I read a lot of philosophy: Foucault, Spivak, a bit of Marx. I also read a lot of Indian history and ethnography. I listen to a variety of music, but really enjoy Beck, old Bollywood, Coca Rosie, Beirut, Feist, and my parents' old folk music. I really liked that movie Rang De Basant, and creepy French movies too.

Geez, that is pressure. I have done a lot, bungee jumping, rafting in Alaska, camping around Australia, but I think the most amazing is yet to come.

I would love to share my remedial Hindi capabilities, my insights about travelling abroad with young kids, my understanding of Indian history, and if you make it to the Northwestern US, I know the wilderness of this region really well! Now in Scotland, we are enjoying hiking, biking, and exploring the countryside . . . some with us!
