ABOUT ME

For those who believe that you are what you like and possibly what you eat....

"I like things" Part I: I like fat winter birds, I like messy-faced babies, I like my own jokes, I like to smell things, I like hearing from old friends, Cucumbers & Yoghurt, Warm rain on a sad day; The hundredaire socialite club (they's a classy bunch!)

Now for some more down to earthy stuff...

If I was forced to describe myself with mere words, I'd say I am quite the open minded person, to a fault I've heard, (you know, making excuses for the idiocy of others, hangin out with "creepsters," etc.) But in all reality, I am honestly just doing what I live for & that's affecting change on a person to person basis. I really think kindness is contagious & if you make it your personal mission everyday to try and get a smile out of someone, you really are doing some good.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well right now Chase & I are on the road for the indefinite future. We have dorm's at the Grand Canyon where we will be working for the winter, but no personal housing which we can offer the to the couchsurfing public :(
I have been spreading the good couchsurfing word though & and as soon as we settle down in some comfy digs, our couches will be open for service!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had AWESOME experiences on couchsurfing. The Butterfly House!!! Givin' ya'll a halla! That is my second family right there! It really has brought back my faith in humanity seeing such an awesome, grassroots, community thing like couchsurfing blossom & bear such rad fruit! I can't wait to travel outside of USA limits - couchsurfing WORLD WIDE baby!!!

Interests

Let's start with the outdoorsy stuff since its kind of my life right now:
Mycology in all of it's fanciful fructifications! I am a fervent fungiphile & am searching the planet for all it has to offer! I'm a member of the PSMS - another branch of my earth fam!
Botany is another great love of mine, kind-of hand in hand with my love of Mycology (how are you going to know where the mushrooms are if you don't know what tree that is?!?!?)
Permaculture living and all that entails - We haven't yet, but volunteering at an Earth Ship build in Taos is definitely on the agenda :)
Survivalism and all that entails - honoring nature by understanding how to use the plants, shrubs, trees, mushrooms for food, medicine, housing and all that goodness!

I've also got a good healthy art-school side (although I could never afford art school).
I play the accordion & drums. I also have a recorder which I travel with (the most under-appreciated of instruments I believe).
I love to paint, draw, write, sculpt, create in any and all ways. I especially enjoy "junk-art" i.e. creating something wonderful & creative out of someone else's "junk."
Hmmmmmmm, did I miss anything....Oh did I mention I <3 TRAVEL!!!!!
