ABOUT ME

We are two friends from New York studying in Florence in our last year of college. We are spending our winter break traveling a bit through Europe. We are here because we're interested in meeting and getting to know locals in the process. We are pretty nice people and think you'll like us.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We're staying at homestays and so don't have couches of our own to offer. That said, if you find yourself in our neck of the woods, stop by for coffee or gelato!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We are brand new here but have heard loads of wonderful things. Rowland showed around some folks couch surfing at his friend's house a couple times.

Movies: Sherry is currently doing a term paper on the films of Finnish director, Aki Kaurismaki. She's been in the middle of Faulkner's Light in August and Anna Karenina for 4 months now. She has been listening to a lot of Beirut and Iron & Wine lately. Rowland likes Hemingway, history, and pop culture. He mostly listens to Tom Waits, or early nineties alternative and punk rock

(note from Rowland: that's not true. I watched my brother eat some alligator tail once, from a can, but that's not really the same thing.)

Sherry speaks a little bit of a bunch of different languages and will try to hold down a conversation in them. She thinks a lot about how life works and likes conversations of that sort. She can make a mean stir-fry and follow recipes.

Rowland is pretty handy around the house. He knows quite a bit about America.
