To collect ALL of the adventures.
I'm Roxanne, a 25 year old recent postgraduate of Psychology with a thirst for adventure and diversity. I'm bubbly and talkative. I would hope contagiously so. I can chat and tell anecdotes endlessly, and most people find me REASONABLY entertaining. I've never had any SEVERE complaints anyway :)
I'm addicted to meeting new people. I love my life to be a chaotic mess of new folk falling into my path sharing their stories and theories. I learn endlessly from others, and I'm hopelessly compelled by a decent life story. Screw TV. I can't bring myself to watch it any more because the real world and real people are too interesting.
It's important to me for life to be funny. Thankfully it is. Everything is hilarious. I love ridiculousness, and it loves me. It stalks me and makes my life narrative worth sharing. I hope that one day, ridiculousness and I will finally be wed.
I like black black nights and bright bright stars.
I like anything that makes me lose track of time.
I like when animals like me.
I hate getting up early.
Bad life decisions make good stories.
I'm a fan of taking whatever the universe dishes out and finding a reason to love it. I've had excellent and terrible experiences in my life, and I regret nothing. I've learned from everything, and I look forward to continuing to learn. To succeed, to fail, to grow. It's all the same thing, really. It's all a ride, and it's all been a blast.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Since I started on this site, about 9 months ago, I've been bothering people for their couches.
I find it so exciting to cross paths with such extraordinary people, that you might not meet under any other condition. It really shakes the snowglobe for me :D
I travelled all across the US meeting awesome people from this site and now that I'm currently in Copenhagen, I can open up my door to some new faces.
I've experienced an explosion of tremendous hospitality and met some incredibly awesome people. I don't even have the words to describe how people continue to inspire me with their warmth and generosity. I think this site has restored my faith in humanity, a little bit. No suicide today I guess!
I get very bored staying in the same place for too long. I love to travel, love to cook and bake (I make mean cupcakes). I love to sew and paint- particularly late at night, when the world stops. Halloween costumes are my favourite. I like the sound a sewing machine makes. I like the way paint feels on my hands. I'm hugely into fancy teas and coffees because I'm not-so-secretly pretentious. I love to run. I solve all of my problems with walking. I like hiking because it charges me. I love cycling because it does nice things to my body and mind.
I'm also a huge fan of musicals and love going to the theatre in general. I'm a sucker for improv comedy because I wish I was funny and witty. I'm a sucker for theme parks; I love rollercoasters and churros and cartoony mascots. I enjoy visiting galleries and finding new artists to be jealous of.
I love to eat. My waist doesn't like it though. Most places I go, it's a priority for me to try and eat like the locals, just for that authentic culinary experience. I love bringing recipes ideas home and pretending I'm a talented chef.
Dancing is the most fun thing ever. I also sometimes sing when I forget to be shy and sensible.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Addicted to Disney movies. Love horror films. Will genuinely watch ANYTHING though- moving images make me happy regardless. Bad movies are also fun.
Music: Whatever you're listening to. I find it hard NOT to enjoy music. I love trying to get a feel for the music of whatever city I'm in. I try to imagine how musical culture shapes a place and a people.
Books: I don't read enough, I admit. Give me books though, I'll read them.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I walked a 900km pilgrimage across Spain last summer. It was simply the most amazing thing I've ever done. I went alone, and afraid, but met hoards of awesome people and travelled through some insanely beautiful places. It was mentally and physically gruelling, but I also had some of the most fun moments of my life.
Just this April I also did the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek in Nepal, hiking in the Himalayas for two weeks.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: How to brew and enjoy loose leaf teas or bake just about anything. I can also teach you how to sew if you've got some ratty socks that need fixing.
Learn: LOVE learning new things. Anything. Teach me to juggle or play an instrument please, or how to do something new in the kitchen.
Share: Stories, time, and maybe even some of my frozen yogurt.
