Overview
About Me
I'm a lifelong learner out to become a surgeon. I hope to pick up many other skills, passions and bits of knowledge on my way. Eventually I'd like to be well enough established to travel far and wide to meet people and experience the world, as well as have a property of my own on which to grow green things and keep lovely animals.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet lovely people wherever I roam and get a peek into their lives - so much more interesting than staying alone in a hotel somewhere! And when I settle back down again, I'd love to give travelers a cozy place to stay, because nothing feels better than snuggling down and chatting with interesting folks over tea after a long trip.
Interests
Hiking in a snowstorm, Jumping off very tall things into refreshing water. Chess. Interspecies relations. Cooking. Making things. Sustainable/biodynamic agriculture and farming. Playing music with fun people, and furthermore, dancing with fun people. Single. Malt. Scotch.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music? Sam Cooke is my homie currently. Ali Farka Toure. Beethoven. Erik Satie. Duke Ellington. And Robert Plant is doing some pretty interesting things lately. Basically if it's bluesy, got good rhythm, a bit of dark folk or beautifully composed, I'm down.
Movies? Only Lovers Left Alive was a revelation. Gladiator. Grand Budapest Hotel- honestly who doesn't love Wes? But even better- Tarantino. Particularly True Romance, got a soft spot for that one. Silver Linings Playbook. And while we're discussing things filmed... Doooweeeeeeooooooooooooooo!!! (Would you like a Jelly Baby?)
Booooooks.... East of Eden, Winter's Tale, Crime and Punishment, Egil's Saga, The Power of One and Tandia, The Myth of Freedom, The Brother's Karamazov, Peter Pan, David Copperfield, Lord of the Rings, If On a Winter's Night a Traveller, A Song of Ice and Fire, The Watchmen, to name a few.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Taught my cat how to climb my bunk bed ladder. Haha..... but seriously I don't know what to put here.
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach guitar decently, I know some fun recipes from scratch, I enjoy teaching some basic art stuff like watercolor, I know how to make soap and I have some fair outdoor skills that can be fun to impart. I also know a bit about the human body and science in general, which I enjoy talking and teaching about.
I'd love to learn more about cooking different different things. I want to learn more about sustainable living and not only reducing my impact but hopefully giving back to the planet. I want to learn so much about growing food and keeping animals sustainably- I especially want to learn to keep bees eventually. But learning about keeping a microgarden while I'm young and living in small places and how to taste that kind of good life at this stage would be great. I want to always learn more musically. I'd love to learn more languages. And any DIY/handcrafting is always extremely welcome.
I'm also keen on sharing life experience, particularly as it comes to practices like yoga and mindfulness. These are things I hope to bring with me into all aspects of my life, and eventually my O.R. I want to continually learn how to be present and compassionate with myself, and how to bring that into how I relate to others- I don't ever want to miss an opportunity to grow with people and expand the network of love and kindness.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm absolutely STELLAR at cleaning. Like a flippin rockstar. Dishes? Love doing them, making them sparkle. Shiny, brand new-looking bathroom? Done. Organized, dignified and cosy living spaces? Gotcha covered. Let me at it. I also enjoy cooking balanced, delicious meals complete with perfect wine pairings and scrumptious desserts, for any kind of dietary persuasion. Would you like me to build a warm fire? Bring and brew some inspired or soothing tea? Concoct the most rejuvenating aromatherapy/bath? Maybe some good conversation? The Danes call it Hygge, and I'm alllll about it.
