About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To expand my horizons through travel, build new friendships, and compile some great stories along the way.

ABOUT ME

I am a passionate, creative, imaginative person, and a lover of music, art, literature and all forms of creative self expression. My life is constantly in flux and I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm very restless in nature, it feels like I want to do everything at the same time - work, read, travel, party, attend shows, pick up new hobbies, volunteer, explore outdoors, have fun, seek adventure. I am generally a laid back person who is fun and adventurous, but thoughtful and serious when necessary.

My mission in life is to seek inspiration and beauty in all things. The adrenaline junkie in me is in constant pursuit of adventure and new ways to break out of my comfort zone. World travel serves both these purposes has become my greatest passion.

PHILOSOPHY

It is by wanting that we become.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I volunteered in marine conservation and community work on a small fishing village in Koh Rong Samloem, Cambodia for 5 weeks. With it's turquoise waters, fresh coconuts, colorful coral reefs, I truly felt as though I was living in paradise. I dove twice a day, sometimes more, and worked with other volunteers and conducted seahorse surveys, fish surveys, and reef check surveys. With this information, the organization worked with the fisheries to establish the waters as a marine protected area and taught the community sustainable fishing practices. I also participated in community work including beach and village clean-ups and helping to teach English to local children. Aside from the work being incredibly rewarding and fun, I fell madly in love with the village, the community and their way of life. It was a truly unique and enriching experience to live and truly be accepted by a village that is completely removed from western society. I learned to embrace a simpler, more self sustaining way of life, and I will never be the same. I miss the village every day and I can't wait to return.

Backpacked through the desolation wilderness in Lake Tahoe and camped under an incredible night sky. Took a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyons. Watched the sunrise over the Sonoran desert from a hot air balloon. Conquered Class V rapids in the Gauley River of WV and the Ohiopyle State Park.Took the incredible journey of the Road to Hana in Maui.Ziplined from great heights and at great speeds over the cloud forest in Monteverde, Costa Rica. Ascended the Taal Volcano on a mule and marveled at a lake within a lake. Sky dived over Orlando, FL from 15,000 feet.Took hang gliding lessons over the sand dunes in Nags Head, NC.Scuba dived and swam alongside colorful sea life off the coast of Palawan, Philippines.Completed my PADI open water diving certification in Maui. And of course the inspiring people I've met along the way.
