About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Just retired and looking forward to exploring life, nature and spiritual with my family and others.ity.

ABOUT ME

I'm a retire park ranger (Environmental Educator/Intepreter - the one that wears a smokey the bear hat) so love all aspects of nature. (hiking, backpacking, kayaking, bird watching). A two time Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and lived in Africa, Honduras as well as Scotland. Having spent close to ten years on the road, I love to travel whenever I can. Spirituality (alternative) plays an important role as does music. Now I live near the coast with my wife and high school aged daughter.

PHILOSOPHY

To live and explore life to its fullest while attempting to make the world a better place.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We host guests but we are now travelling across the country so won't be available to host for the summer. Our room will be occupied in the fall, but we still might be able to host someone on the floor/couch.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have hosted various surfers and give local advise whenever possible. New to couch surfing, but have belonged to other clubs in the past including house exchange.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived with the nomadic Tuareg people in the Sahel (Sahara desert)- in a grass hut and had a camel named lightning.

Teach, Learn, Share

As a park ranger I love sharing different aspects of nature, culture and tourism with others; Environmental education; Lots of experience with budget travel (where to stay, eat, etc.); I am associated with the Findhorn Community in Scotland and love to explore alternative communities and spirituality; Music encourager.
