About Me

I grew up on Long Island, New York where I spend most of my time working, exercising, and with family. Although I was raised in the United States, I still have a strong connection to my country of origin - Ecuador. I lived there for about 3 years between the ages of 8-10 which helped me remain fluent in Spanish. I'm always looking for ways to improve, in many aspects - physically, mentally, emotionally, and culturally. I feel life is a journey to understand oneself and what they love about life. The only way to know what makes one happy, is to know oneself from the inside out!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy meeting new people and think it's great that, with today's forums and technology, we can do this all over the world. I've traveled solo before and it's nice to see what other people are like, their cultures, hobbies, and what everyone does for fun back home. I'm a big believer in keeping an open mind and letting people in. I think traveling is a great way to get an insight on how others view life and what is dearest to them. Exposing oneself to new people and lifestyles can also help one learn more about themselves.

Interests

I enjoy working out, martial arts, weapons training, obviously travel, extreme sports, the outdoors, and embracing on the little things life has to offer. Traveling is my escape from the everyday routine and a chance for me to get away from the norm.

I like surrounding myself with down to earth individuals. I am very easy going, sociable, and different ways of life are always something I've been curious about.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all types of music but primarily enjoy Techno, House, Metal, Country, Rock, Alternative, Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Reggaeton, Reggae, Samba, Cumbia, Flamenco, and Classical on occasion when I just want to relax. My favorite movie is Gladiator, probably because of my interest Roman history. I like action, suspense, and thriller movies. I also enjoy shows like Breaking Bad, Law & Order, and Lost. I’m also open to suggestions to literature on motivation, business, and self improvement

Need a place to crash? I have an international time share and am always looking to travel outside the US. I can offer a place to sleep. Visiting New York? I can show anyone around Long Island, NY. The best time to visit here is during the summer time which starts in May and extends into September. I have friends that can help us explore New York city as well.
