About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Leave the world better than I found it and meet a lot of great people when I do.

ABOUT ME
I'm in law school in Bloomington, Indiana (Go Hoosiers!). I'm getting back into couch surfing and hope to see a lot of decent folks.

from 2011
I am currently an English lecturer at Aksaray University under the US department of State's Fulbright program until June. After that, I return to my employment back in the States. Personal essays are always irritating to write and moreso read, so I'll be frank. Basically, I see the futility in money and richness all-the-while realizing the need to live a comfortable life. What a dichotomy! It would be great if I could have a family one day which never really had to want for anything. That said, I would like to work for a giving (not a living) and let one life on this earth have breathed easier because of my time on it. I am a Christian who sees too much judgement and cruelty in the world, and believes that Christ is a loving person, not the yelling, screaming, judgement-filled pastor seen around the western world today. As a result, I try to walk in that real love for my fellow human being, meet them in their need, and attempt to understand their understanding. All that said, I enjoying having fun as much as anyone and can't wait for the next adventure!

PHILOSOPHY

Carpe diem!
Every human being, regardless of age or condition, is a sacred individual, deserving of love and freedom from disturbance by people or power. We are all put on this ball of rock and water- spinning crazily through the universe- for merely an instant in order to make the experience better for our posterity and in so glorify our maker.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Later this year, I plan on hosting a bit.

Interests

everything!
I enjoy everything political, especially those with whom I disagree on political issues. I find that understanding the way people think is just fascinating.
Otherwise, I enjoy learning about nations, cultures, beliefs, pastimes, and food. Food is very important, as is sleep!

Music, Movies, and Books

Classic Rock, classical, inspirational, trance...whatever augments my mood.

I generally prefer films which make me think, stretch my mind, have superb acting, or are full of action. Those which combine those elements (the latest batman series, Avatar, Inglorious Bastards) are even better. Brainless entertainment seldom interests me. I would rather sleep.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I nearly tripped John McCain by accident (I promise) in the Senate Office building hallways.

Teach, Learn, Share

Wanna make some authentic cajun food?
I am a Fulbright scholar/grantee this year, so I fully believe in the value of exchange and inter-cultural dialouge and experience.
Tip1- I have met a plethora of Turks and Europeans who want to go to the US. The Fulbright program actually sends more foreigners to the USA than Americans abroad, so the chances are good.
Tip2-5- will come after I sleep some more and think of them.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am great at conversations. If you want a guest who can talk and also listen, I'm your guy.

20 Countries so far; a lot of amazing stories. I would love to hear yours as well!
