I'm an upstart journalist. There is no zoning outrage or local composting project that I won't cover. I make beer, ride my bicycle, read stories, write stories, scavenge and turn things over. I'm happy when I'm dancing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed the couch of a friend of a friend for a good long while. Being an unpaid intern, the line of social credit was hugely appreciated.

Interests

Good stories, warm bagels, beer making and sampling, the Stanley Cup finals, restorative justice, following the financial greening of the environmental movement, finding out more of what Mtl. is about, and what the people here want it to be.

Music, Movies, and Books

The first 130-odd pages of Cormac McCarthy's "The Crossing" are pretty great. "Cloud Atlas" was impressive. I like the old movie "The Third Man." A couple of weeks ago, I was merrily whaling away on the air guitar I never knew I had to "Dirt Eaters" by His Name Is Alive.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once played a game of tag with a sea otter. I had fun in spite of the being 'it' the whole time, and the unmistakable taunting of the otter.
