About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To understand people, to understand communities, to understand myself.
ABOUT ME
Lucky is how I often describe myself. In the decade I've been attacked by the travel bug. I love to explore and and meet wonderful people.
I think I appreciate travelling because it gives me time to talk to the people I travel with. I like the time I'm able to remove myself from one place, and completely surround myself in a foreign setting.

PHILOSOPHY
My philosophy: You need to find the good in people.
Optimist to a fault.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Recently, I've surfed more than I have hosted. I started out surfing in Canada before I was able to host. I've donated money because I really believe in the CS ideals.
Most importantly, I spread the word about Couchsurfing. The best form of advertising is word-of-mouth.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've met many couchsurfers: in Germany, Iceland, and here in Canada. They always tell me such positive things, and I want to get involved.
I've surfed in Canada, Jerusalem, France, Netherlands, Ireland, Scotland, England, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Ukraine, and Italy - and hosted a dozen or so people at my old flat in Halifax.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all sorts of movies: independents and pop-culture ones. I think both have merit. Regardless, I like these: The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, I Love You Phillip Morris
Music: Owen Pallett, Basia Bulat. Disclaimer: I was never very good at music.
I like live concerts and shows. I like to dance too, therefore always in search of good vibes.
Books: I rarely read fiction. I like to read books about suburbs & urban sociology. Devil in the White City, or History of Future Cities are some good ones I've read recently.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was going to school in Italy in 2005, the pope died. I travelled to Rome, and slept in the streets for a day to be part of the funeral. It was horribly smelly, and exhausting. I finally made it to St. Peters and was shoved past the pope's body. It was a hilarious 12 seconds. I was interviewed by 2 different news sources that day. It was a great experience, but I wouldn't call myself religious.
Teach, Learn, Share
This section has always been a struggle. I'm a generalist...I can teach you basic things about Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or Sketchup? I could also help create something (menu, brochure, magazine, poster, etc) - and we could share that experience. As for learning: I've always wanted to learn how to roll cigarettes!
