Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Honestly, I am here to save money. I am a Ph.D. student living off a very small scholarship and can't afford to travel to most conferences because accommodation is just too expensive in many places.

Interests

I am super interested in Artificial Intelligence and basically every future technology. I love sports and used to be a professional squash player many years ago; I still do sports (squash, football, fitness), whenever I can (not that much lately...).

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't listen too much to music, but when I do I prefer alternative rock. I like steampunk science fiction and fantasy movies, tv series and books. One of my favorite series was Firefly and I do read a lot on my daily commute, for example, Terry Pratchett or Douglas Adams, but also more fact based stuff mostly about technology and shaping the future through technology.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved from Germany to Brazil without a job and got one in two weeks without even knowing Portuguese.
