About Me

I am an adventurous spirit who is rarely content to stay in one place for long. I usually live in Bristol in the UK in my recently converted van Elkie who has become my home. I work part time as a tour guide leading trips throughout Europe in the summer and I also have my own business designing and selling African festival clothing. I go to Ghana for a few months every winter and work with tailors there to create amazingly colourful garms and then travel the UK festival circuit in the summer with a stall.

Please note: I'm not new to couchsurfing. I have hosted and stayed with many people. I did have a full couchsurfing profile which had many reviews etc but hadn't used it for a few years and now it seems to have disappeared so I have had to create this new one.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have had some really great experiences couchsurfing around the globe (unfortunately my profile has disappeared with all the people I have stayed with so I've had to create a new one??) The philosophy of couchsurfing is amazing and the platform offers a way to meet local people and learn about cultures in a very different way than just staying in a hotel or hostel.

Interests

My biggest interest is travel, I work part time as a tour guide throughout Europe through the summer which allows me to follow my passion whilst discovering new places. I enjoy meeting new people and having new experiences and conversations. I think this is why I enjoy hitchhiking so much as you never know where each lift or conversation will lead. I have hitchhiked a lot in Europe and also in Canada and the US.

In my spare time I spend time with friends, go to concerts, cook big dinner parties, go on trips away in my van, go walking in the country....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my favourite travel experiences has been hitchhiking from Vancouver to Los Angeles over 3 weeks. I was amazed by the generosity of the people we met, we were offered rides, invited into homes and to parties. Each day was different and we never knew when we woke up what experiences the day would bring. It was freedom!
