ABOUT ME

For the last seven years I've been working as a musician (singing, playing piano and directing choirs) in a church in Aarhus, Denmark.
Before the end of the year (2010) I will however be working somewhere else (have no idea where nor with what, yet), and be living somewhere else (maybe Aarhus, maybe Denmark...maybe not!?).

I've realized that the more I allow myself to be who I am, to do what is meaningful to me and to love myself, the more beautiful my life becomes, the more beautiful everything around me becomes, and the more I smile.

Some of the things that make me smile:
Life itself (with all the ups and down all teaching me valuable lessons), traveling, discovering new cultures, nature, having my limits (fears and stuck ideas) challenged, allowing myself to cry, a good cup of tea or coffee, laughing, singing, deep conversations, reading a good book, watching and playing with children (they make me smile (their innocence and honesty is wonderful)), making new friends, my old friends, my family...and I could go on...

PHILOSOPHY

The more I learn to love (accept, respect and honor) myself (and everything in me - light and dark), the easier and more natural it is for me to love and honor everything and everyone around me for what it is and who they are.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have just joined, but I'm looking forward to meeting a lot of wonderful people and making new friends around the globe.
Last year I "couch surfed" in the U.S., visiting friends, which was a wonderful experience. But since I don't have friends everywhere (yet), CouchSurfing is an excellent opportunity. Plus at the moment I have an apartment with plenty of space to host couch surfers.

兴趣

Songwriting -I just wrote my first song about two years ago...and now they just keep coming.
Singing -for many years it's mainly been gospel music (Kurt Carr, Kirk Franklin etc.), but now I'm turning towards country/bluegrass and folk-rock (the songs I write).
Traveling -I don't do it nearly as much as I'd like to, but I love it!
Nature -I love meditating in nature, talking and listening to everything (mother earth), hugging the trees.
Food -I love cooking and eating raw-food and discovering new vegetarian dishes, but I also like a good piece of meat and fish once in a while.
Sports -I've played soccer half of my life, but for some reason don't anymore!? I love to play basketball, but I'm not very good at it. Also I try to do some running and swimming and I love hiking...

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

In May 2009 I drove through the Great Smoky Mountains, which inspired me to write the following:
"...as I drove into the mountains
with nothing but trees,
the green colors burned
into my memory.
I saw creation,
Mother Earth giving birth,
I felt an ancient spirit
rising up from the earth.
I felt one with it all
a smile grew on my face,
still can't wipe it off
it's been there for days..."

(and the smile is still there!)

This was just from driving through the Smokys.
I'm going back to get a closer look!
