Overview
About Me
In December 2021, I graduated from high school and enlisted in the military a month later. During my time in National Service on the tropical island of Singapore, I realized it would be a great opportunity to explore backpacking during pockets of free time. Therefore, in 2022, I embarked on an unprecedented journey, primarily within the Asia-Pacific region but occasionally venturing beyond. So far, my experiences have been incredibly rewarding, as I’ve had the pleasure of meeting new friends and immersing myself in diverse cultures. These eye-opening encounters have inspired introspection, prompting me to reflect on my role in society and envision the kind of world I aspire to live in—and how I can contribute to making it a reality.
I consider myself an off-the-beaten-track traveller, primarily drawn to unconventional destinations, and my itineraries always encompass a sense of purpose. I am particularly interested in visiting historical landmarks, museums, financial hubs, courts, and even law firms. These places not only provide unique experiences that are relevant to my future endeavours but also enable me to grasp the political and economic dynamics of a city, allowing me to comprehend its history and glimpse into its future. Of course, I also relish engaging with locals. Conversing with people from all walks of life whom I encounter on the streets provides me with invaluable insights and the most authentic introduction to a city.
