PHILOSOPHY

I believe that if I stop learning, I'll stop living. Though I have worked making Film and TV, I treat TV with care, and have not owned one since I was 20. It can take away valuable time which could be spent with actual people. Trust people, and they will behave better.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have internationally hitchiked for twenty-five years, and have made lifelong friends both from couchsurfing and hitchiking.

Interests

Partying - Beach Fires and live music. Water and the Sea. International Affairs cultural history, local village culture in remote locations. Africa. Community-centred design solutions.
Sports - cycling, sailing, kayaking, mountaineering, sea swimming, my old trail bike, The mountains of my home (Wales), and the History and Philosophy of my ancient village. Literature and human geography.

Music, Movies, and Books

Left-leaning, Early Modernist and Beat texts, Tim Winton, Hemmingway, Bob Dylan, Conrad, Woolf, 1960s Ska, Bluegrass. Film: I make 'em, so anything I can get lost in or pushes outside the box/screen: so many! Recent favourite example is Interstellar.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived in the bush in Africa and helped with the Ebola outbreak.

I know loads of academic arts-based stuff, and love to talk literature. I know how things work, almost always. Cars. Boats. Bikes. Locally improvised design culture is my speciality.
