Hi i'm Rury. I'm from Jakarta, Indonesia.

Now I'm currently living in Kosice, Slovakia for a volunteering project by a student run organization.

I can speak French a little bit. I can play violin but the last time i played was a really long time ago so... I think I've forgetten how to play it. I can do ice skating kinda well. Never try sledding until a few weeks ago here in Slovakia.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I just joined Couchsurfing and never really try to look for hosts until now I get a chance to look for one because of my upcoming trip to Berlin before I go home. I'm always really curious about this country and it historical places.

I hope someone could accept me in their house because it would be nice to stay in a local people house so that i can learn about the culture, daily habits, and especially language because so many Indonesians go to germany to study, I would probably do the same.

I'm also will try to be a host when I go back to Indonesia because it's like travelling and meeting new people without flying for 13 hours (yes, that's how much time I spent in the airplane from Indonesia to Europe).

Interests

Since I went to Europe by myself, travelling alone has been really addicitive to me.

I like meeting new people, because I believe building a good networking will never be a waste of time and will be really useful for the future.

I like talking about almost everything (I have an avarage knowledge about everything so it would be nice to get more knowldege from a conversation with people).

I'm always really passionate talking about current world issues because I find it really cool when someone can talk about politics, economics, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to almost all kinds of music.

I really like Star Wars, so you can talk with me about all the episodes or even re-watching the episodes together! Other than Star Wars I really like to watch comedy movies because I like laughing.

The last book I read was Love, Rosie (Where Rainbow Ends) from Cecilia Ahren after that i don't really have much time to read book other than journal for my assignment that was given by the lecturer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

WENT HERE TO EUROPE BY MYSELF. That's really such a big achievment for me. I'm really proud of that because that was my first time travelling this far, I've never even go this far with my family.

The other thing that I can say is that this whole experience, living and doing my project in Europe has changed myself a lot. I'm now have a different perspective and way of thinking, I'm becoming more mature and open minded. That's why I think it as one of the amazing thing I've done, going out of your comfort zone is never easy but it will be worth it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Indonesian language really properly, and tell you the recipe and ingridients if you want to cook Indonesian food(I wish i could just cook it for you but I'm not really good at cooking, but I would really love to help).

I want to learn about anything from you country, from tradition to language especially language.

When I'll be a host, i would love to share a place for you to stay and a knowledge about Indonesia.
