I am currently an undergraduate student in Maastricht University, in the Netherlands.

I was born in India and raised in The Hague, Netherlands and went to an international school there. I've also spent two years in boarding school in the foothills of the Himalayas!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am familiar with the concept, but new to this website:

I love the idea of travelers helping other travelers have a good time in different places in the world and making friendships along the way with people who you would not otherwise have met.
It makes traveling affordable for one: I think most tourist activities can be overrated and quite a rip off; and they may not even be the activities you'd potentially enjoy most in the city you're visiting.
And, it makes your visit more meaningful if you shared it with someone. Meeting the right person to show you the secret places and having a good time with them is cooler than exploring alone and just seeing the surface of the city.
And this website is a great platform for just that!

Interests

I am into music, sports (football/soccer, skateboarding, badminton, squash, hiking) and philosophizing.

I like to go out and meet people, and hear their story, as well as share my own. Every human being is a package of experiences, insights and is continuously evolving. There is so much to you and me!

I am really into attending gigs at bars/venues - usually rock n' roll, but I do dig some good electronic music. If we are going out in the evening, that would probably be my top preference, but I am open to other recommendations regarding how we spend the evening

Music - Heavy Metal: Megadeth, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Helloween..
- Rock n' Roll: Bon Jovi, Scorpions, Skid Row, Cinderella, Motley Crue, Rolling Stones, RHCP, Muse...
- Electronic: Glitch Mob, God is an Astronaut, Russian Circles, Mogwai, C2C, JJ...
- Hip Hop: Asheru, Brotha Lynch Hung, Mobb Deep, Fugees...

Movies - I haven't seen many films purely out of not willing to sit down and watch something for 2+ hours in my spare time - I've only watched films with other people and usually enjoyed them. I am into comedy films, based-on-a-true-story films, and films with a lot of character development. If you have a defined taste in film, I would definitely be willing to watch something that you'd recommend.

Books - I haven't read many, but I particularly enjoyed The Inheritance Cycle, The Kite Runner, The Old Man and the Sea, Of Mice and Men, Cather in the Rye and I'm currently reading Brave New World!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been at the right place at the right time for a project that I thought would never come true - the best public skatepark in the state, 5 minutes from my house! Through me and my friends' initiation with the council
