I'm a beach bum with some intense wanderlust. The world is a beautiful space filled with beautiful people.
I travel to experience different places; I could also say that I travel because that's what I know to do. My parents planted that seed for travel and adventure in me from a few months after I was born.

My favourite way to travel is the slow way: by boat, under sail.
Being a sailor and some times living aboard for extended periods of time has impacted how I interpret the passage of time, human needs and human connection.
Swimming, sailing and scuba diving are ways that I get to spend as much time as possible with the ocean. I'm a PADI Rescue Diver and hopefully, sometime soon I'll be a Divemaster. I'm also working on my captain's license.

For now, I'm based in Alsace, France. Last year I was in Montreal and I lived in a communal space combined of two lofts with nine people total. We shared food, life, talents, stories, pain, love and community. I enjoy living situations like this.
At my core I cherish love, peaceful relations, open communication, simplicity and self/community sustenance.
I'm passionate about nature and people. The sea is my home.

The Not So Favourable:
-I'm usually late- I operate on island time
-I get the flu and colds easily
-I have a list of dietary restrictions that are longer than the list of foods that I can eat
-I'm fairly impulsive (this goes both ways)
-I'm a night owl (also goes both ways)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Update!: I'm living in France now while I teach English and I have lots of vacation time that I'd like to travel in Europe!
A few of my friends speak very highly of their interactions with folks that they have met via Couchsurfing and well, I'd like to join in that party too.
I got a profile years ago when I moved to Barbados but now I'm in Canada for a few months and I have a few months of traveling ahead of me. It seems like a good decision and many friends have recommended it.

Interests

I'm trying to find the fine line between taking too many photographs and not taking enough photographs. I usually don't take enough photos. I enjoy photography and video production. Sometimes share my experiences with people through those mediums.
I think I've talked enough about how much I love the sea, so I'll mention the other things that interest me.
High up on that list is conversing with people. I value conversations like gold. I'm more of a listener and I've found that many people appreciate that very much.
Also, I blog and write a lot. It is really fulfilling and a great way to express myself and provide information for others who may be interested in what I think.

Update: Now I teach English in France. I am also a macramé teacher/art maker! :D

When I'm in Trinidad I teach people to sail. Here in Montreal, I'm open to teaching photography and English. The loft that I live at hosts numerous workshops for free.
