Overview
About Me
Hi! 👋 My name is Ruslan – I’m a traveler, explorer, and mountain enthusiast.
I was born in Russia, lived in Georgia, and now I’m heading to the USA to start a new chapter. I’ve traveled a lot—explored almost all of Asia 🌏, including Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, India, Sri Lanka, Armenia, Turkey, and Cyprus. Mountains are my passion: I’ve climbed Elbrus, Kazbek, and Belukha, hiked in the Fann Mountains, and reached the Annapurna Base Camp 🏔️🏔️🏔️.
I love running 🏃, watching good movies 🎬, meeting interesting people 👥, and sharing stories. My English isn’t perfect yet, but I’m great at explaining things with gestures and playing "Charades"! 🤷♂️✨
Right now, I’m traveling through Georgia, Turkey, and Serbia, and then I’ll head to the USA to cross the country from New York to California 🚗🌎. I’d love to meet new people and exchange experiences! 🌍💬

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe the best way to experience a new place is through the people who live there 🌍. Couchsurfing isn’t just about finding a free place to stay; it’s about cultural exchange, meeting like-minded travelers, and sharing experiences 🙌.
I love exploring new places, hearing stories from locals, and uncovering hidden gems that aren't found in guidebooks 🗺️. I also enjoy sharing my own travel experiences and learning about different perspectives along the way ✈️.
Right now, I’m on a big journey—traveling from New York to California 🚗—and I’d love to meet new people along the way! If you enjoy deep conversations, hiking 🥾, or just a good laugh 😄, I’d be happy to connect!

Music, Movies, and Books
When it comes to music, I listen to a wide range of genres, and I can’t really say that one stands out more than the others 🎶. Right now, I’m really into jazz, but for me, it’s not just the music—it’s the atmosphere, the surroundings, and the conversations that come with it. Jazz symbolizes freedom and unpredictability, and that’s what I look for in my musical experience. But every day brings different moods, and music should reflect that variety 🎷.
As for movies, I watch a lot, but here’s my superpower: I quickly forget what I’ve seen, so I’m always happy to rewatch movies 🎥. Maybe that’s why I enjoy revisiting old favorites. One film that really stuck with me is Night on Earth—it’s such a unique film that perfectly matches my mood and lifestyle, especially with my constant travels to new countries 🌍. I also really loved Perfect Days. It’s a slow-paced, atmospheric film that gives you a fresh perspective on a country 🌅. These two were just the last ones I watched and really remembered for a long time.
I also love reading 📚. I have this tradition where I always bring a book with me to a new country. Once I finish it, I swap it with other travelers. That way, not only am I traveling, but so are the books. It’s not just about sharing knowledge; it’s a beautiful way to connect with new people 💫.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing experiences in the mountains is watching the sunrise with a cup of freshly brewed coffee at 5,500 meters ☕🌄. The world slowly wakes up beneath you as the first golden rays kiss the snow-capped peaks. The cold, crisp air fills your lungs, and for a brief moment, everything is perfectly still—just you, the mountains, and the endless sky 🌨️. The coffee tastes richer, the silence feels deeper, and the sheer beauty of nature makes you forget all the challenges it took to get there. It’s pure magic ✨.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share my experience in hiking, mountaineering, and traveling on a budget 🏞️. I also have hands-on skills in woodworking and metalworking, so if you ever want to learn how to build something with your own hands, I’d be happy to teach! 🔨
I’m always eager to learn more about different cultures, languages, and local traditions 🌍. I’m also working on improving my English, so any help with that would be much appreciated! 😊
I can share travel stories, good conversation, and maybe even a cup of coffee brewed the way it tastes best—high up in the mountains at sunrise ☕🌄.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my travel stories from all over Asia, the Caucasus, and beyond—crazy adventures, mountain hikes, and experiences from different cultures 🌏. If you love the outdoors, we can go for a hike or a run together! 🏞️
I also have experience in woodworking and metalworking, so I can help with small DIY projects if needed 🔨. And if words fail me, I’m a pro at explaining things through gestures and playing "Charades"! 😄
Most importantly, I bring a positive attitude, good conversation, and, if you have a coffee maker, I’ll make sure we enjoy a great cup of coffee! ☕🙂
