About Me

I teach people (mainly kids) how to speak English

I like the beach, sunshine is awesome, red wine is better than white wine, laughing is good exercise; the beach is awesome like a good cup of tea :)

Philosophy - Peace, Love, Hope, Charity, Forgiveness; Be Excellent to Each Other; Dust Your Shoulders and Keep on Going.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Cultural learning, new perspectives and meeting like-minded travellers. We don't always have to agree, but we can always learn something new. True open-mindedness is understanding that people don't always have the same opinions, but that's okay.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like most genres of music - especially 80's music; Soul; New Wave; 60's and 70's.

I especially like American authors such as Richard Brautigan - Sombrero Fallout, A Confederate General from Big Sur; and John Steinbeck - Cannery Row, Tortilla Flat.

Objectively the best movie ever might be The Big Lebowski, (but I also like guilty pleasures such as Dude where's my car, Pineapple Express, Revenge of the Nerds :D)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not just one...
I held a new born baby pig and it was solid like a stone.
Broke both my feet.
Heard a ghost in Belgium.
Nearly accidently robbed a bank in Vermont.
Bought stuff from a Mexican gangster in Detroit.
Judged a stripper contest.
Got trapped by a skunk.
Once had to remove my own fingernail... it hurt!
Got a campervan to flip onto it's head.
Watched a Chilean sneeze 14 times in a row.
Drove a million miles for love.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can upgrade your English from okay to great!
Musicians welcome! It's always a pleasure to have a jam, or just a good old fashioned sing-along with other music lovers :D
Show you around the quaint city of Bratislava like your very own tourist guide, and introduce you to the best places to get some traditional food.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A comfortable place to stay right near the old centre of the city, conversation, smiles and freestyle laughing.
