About Me

I am from Salt Lake City, USA and am currently attending Southern Utah University (graduating 2020). However, I'm studying abroad my last semester in Murcia, Spain. I've lived in several countries over the span of my life and as a result have developed a deep love for living abroad, meeting new people, learning about new cultures, and exploring new mindsets.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My brothers have both used Couchsurfing and really loved their experiences staying with other people. As a consequence, I am intrigued and eager to try it. I love meeting new people and making new friends. I think that locals always know best when it comes to their city/country. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite books: Crime and Punishment, The Count of Monte Cristo, Cheaper By the Dozen

Favorite movies: The Accountant, Pride and Prejudice (A and E version), The Phantom of the Opera (2004 version)

Favorite Music/Artists: Muse, Shakira, Lorde, Kanye West and many others. I like pop, rock, alternative rock, alternative, indie, reggaeton, folk, etc. I love so many types of music and would love to hear your taste in music. I am ALWAYS on the hunt for new tunes. (I think the only types of music I don't like thus far are EDM, screamo, and country.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been working for the past few years to help preserve Southern Paiute, the Native American language of my area (southern Utah). While unfortunately I won't be able to finish the project, I have learned a lot of this almost-extinct language and have been working on creating an online talking dictionary for the language. I've been meeting biweekly for the past few years with an elder from the Cedar City Band of Paiutes and record the words, phrases, and sentences that she says. I am also working on making some basic lessons for the language.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share stories about my life and the places I've lived, the languages I have some ability in, interesting philosophical discussion/deep talk, or play the piano pretty poorly :) I also love to cook and would love to cook with you, whether it's your food or mine. I can help with chores/housework if needed.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Canada, Fiji, Tonga
