About Me

CURRENT MISSION

i want to visit, live and feel the experiences this world has to give.

ABOUT ME

i never really know what to write in these blocks but I'll try.
lets see: People call me Ruthi, I have dark hair (:P lol) and I have been described by friends as a little weird, they can never tell me why, but its apparently in a good way o.O I'm from Africa, and no we don't have lions in the back yard or live in little tribal huts, and I have this amazing continent tattooed on my back. i enjoy a good hike and i am hoping to see the world. But on a negative note i am lazy and often need a good push to get motivated.... enough Info?

PHILOSOPHY

It's astonishing how much trouble one can get oneself out of, if one simply assumes that everything will, somehow or other workout for the best - Destruction of the endless, Niel Gaimon: The Sandman

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

unfortunately i don't really have a couch up for grabs at this stage. living in a rented place makes things a little complicated. but i am interested in surfing and hopefully once i get my own place, host as well :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

unfortunately none yet (in terms of actual couch surfing), however I have been to Europe, New Zealand, Egypt, Kenya, Swaziland and according to my dads philosophy, I have seen my own country back to front before heading out :)

Interests

art, (especially painting), traveling, archaeology (especially African), anime, cosplay, camping, hiking, scuba diving, gaming and hanging out with friends at random little places.

Music, Movies, and Books

oooh loads, loved reading The Famished Road by Ben Okri and at the moment I am reading Love in the time of Cholera by G G Marquez.
music tastes range, not too picky, but i do enjoy artists like Geoffrey Oryema, CocoRosie, Bijork, Bonobo, Crystal Castles, Johnny Clegg, tallest man on earth, guts, the Decemberists etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i got to sleep under the stars in the centre of the world >_< the Cradle of human Kind in Kenya, Lake Turkana, one of the most remote places i could have ever dreamed of visiting, i got to walk in the footsteps of the ancestors that may have birthed humanity onto this big wide wonderful Globe we call earth.

Teach, Learn, Share

i'll have to get back to you on this one o.O
