ABOUT ME

I am a student from Detroit MI. I am currently taking massage therapy classes, though I originally went to college to study theatre. I love living in the city, and I love traveling. I am into living freely and sustainably. I like to grow things, watch things grow, and enjoy life.

I work as a waitress and massage therapist in Detroit. I like to ride bikes, lay in the sunshine, and eat good food. I love to sing and make music. I like to dance and talk with good people. I like to dress up and go to parties and dance, and I like to chill an spend some time watching a good movie with friends.

I love my family, my boyfriend and my friends. Being there for the people in my life and spending time with them is very important to me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love traveling and meeting people. Hearing stories about their lives and the places they live bring meaning and gravity to my travels and really allow me to feel what a place is like. Since I have started really staying with locals and meeting and talking to people when I travel, I would never want to visit a place with out having that experience. I want to see what a place is really like from the perspective of the people who live there, not just what it is like to be a tourist and stay in a hotel and see attractions.

I love music; I'll give anything a try.

My favorite band is probably The Dresden Dolls and Amanda Palmer. Amanda Palmer was my idol in High School, and I'll probably always love the theatricality that she and Brian bring to performances. Up there with them are Hot Chip, Lady Gaga, Pretty Lights, The Avett Brothers and The Decemberists.

That being said, I really like all kinds of music in the right context, and I LOVE the experience of live music, whether its a band I love or I'm with a bunch of people who are really into a style in particular. I love to go dancing to electronic and house music, and Detroit really has the best.

I love to watch movies, and TV shows, especially on a mellow afternoon with not much to do. I like just about everything, but no scary movies! I get too scared!!!

I love to read a good book. Lately I've been reading all of Bret Easton Ellis's books, which has really helped me get excited for my trip to California this summer.
