ABOUT ME

I am a 32 year old woman. I was born in England but grew up in Germany, and have always enjoyed meeting and getting to know people from other countries. In terms of travelling, I did 'camp america' when I was 21 and spent some time travelling around the East coast of the US. I have also taught english in a summer camp in Poland aswell as living and teaching english in Seville, Spain for a year with my husband. I also spent a month in south korea (where my husband was teaching english) as well as having travelled to Jamaica on holiday. So I have been to a few continents! I would like to go to south america at some point and improve my spanish.

PHILOSOPHY

Why do you live life? A difficult question to answer! I think my philosophy if I have one is try to make the most of the life you have, to experience and learn about as many things as possible and to appreciate the world. I also believe in being honest, non-judgemental and not doing anything to hurt people. Respecting others view points and opinions.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have recently moved to Leicester and don't know many people here so would like to meet new people through couch surfing. We have a spare room with a sofa bed which we may be offering to couch surfers in the future if you want to explore sunny leicester! To start with though I would like to meet up with people, I am interested in meeting all nationalities but it would be good to meet a spanish speaker so I could practice and improve my spanish (I've put intermediate as I'm not beginner but that is probably an exaggeration of my speaking ability!).

So far I have only met up with couchsurfers in leicester once.

Interests

I like watching films and good TV programmes (e.g. Mad Men). I like reading novels but never seem to get round to it! I like cycling, swimming and have started doing yoga DVDs. I also like to meet and chat with friends. I am interested in learning more about photography, so I can take better photos. My husband and I also sing in a community choir (a lot of world music).

Music, Movies, and Books

I've just watched the social network which I loved. I'm also interested in watching 'never let me go' I read the book and thought it was really good. Music wise I like stuff like Alicia Keyes, Nelly Furtado, aswell as more indie stuff my husband brings to my attention (MGMT, Belle & Sebastian). I'm planning on reading a book about pompei as I've just been on holiday there, as well as perhaps bram stokers dracula, just picked it off the shelf and thought I should read it as it's a classic. I've just finished reading a book on Tracey Emin's art.
