I’m Ruud, hailing from Maastricht in The Netherlands. By day I’m a UI designer; by night I’m part of the crew at an art cinema. In other words: I basically live inside a movie frame and wouldn’t want it any other way. Cinematography has officially claimed my heart.

So who is this Ruud guy? Think of a creative, optimistic, open-minded soul who happily disappears into the wild with nothing but a hammock and questionable survival instincts. I’m that person who hops on random hitchhikes, trams, or buses with no idea where they’re going—getting lost and seeking discomfort is part of the adventure.

Nature keeps me grounded, design keeps me inspired, and music keeps me sane. I’m also a devoted vinyl collector, so my home is essentially a forest of record sleeves and good intentions.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To share and learn through a local perspective. I can stay in a hostel with another 20 foreigners but that would let me perceive less local culture.

Changed to some non profit hospitality exchange platforms which I can’t mention here other wise my profile will get suspended. Once had 250 references until headquarters suspended me due to criticism on their policies and volunteering making wireframes for a new non profit, grassroots built platform.
