About Me

I'm a programmer by day and musician/writer/creative by night. I love being out in nature and trying out a different lifestyle wherever I travel. My current quest is on how to better live this sliver of life I've been give and I'm always keen to hear other people's life experiences.
Music has always been a part of my life and over the last few years, it's been the driving force behind my growth and my travels. I've gotten back into writing poetry and songs and have revived my Youtube channel for covers at the moment @unchartedpassions.
I hike a lot, I love movement in many forms (dancing, running, swimming) and of course travelling and meeting people different from me, who force me to look at the world from a new angle

Future ambitions: walk the length of New Zealand solo and cycle it back with my friend. Publish a volume of poetry. Share my experience as a solo female traveller through a blog (that I've put off writing for a year now, I should really get to it, huh)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books

Music I always listen to
- All Them Witches are my favourite band (have now seen them 13 times on two continents) and I'm a big fan of the neo-psychedelic/stoner rock scene
- all music performed by Jordi Savall
- I love bands that know how to use the full range of the human voice, like Wardruna, Heilung, San Salvador, Laboratorium Piesni

Books you should read
- A Tale for the Time Being, by Ruth Ozeki
- The Earthsea series by Ursula K Le Guin - absolutely life changing
- Small Gods by Terry Pratchett - the man was a genius

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed Mt Fuji at night and saw the best sunrise of my life
Jumped off a (not very high, but also very high) cliff into Lake Wakatipu, just outside Queenstown, New Zealand
Travelled to the US twice to see my favourite band
Hiked for four days around the Penwith peninsula of Cornwall
Walked the West Highland Way (196km) over 6 days and spent the coldest night of my life in a tent at 1C.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning about people's experiences, insights, enlightenments and how they got to where they are.
I can teach songs, some of my favourite guitar riffs, how to massage your hands, how to tell apart 18th century from Regency from Edwardian dresses

What I Can Share with Hosts

Music, homemade food, stories from around the world, fangirling over how cool languages are, good vibes.
