About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live, love and learn to the max!!!

ABOUT ME

Being a recent college graduate, I am in the process of figuring out what the next chapter in my life will consist of. Like many people, the struggling US economy and the flooded job marketplace has made it an employer’s market. So, instead of trying to follow the rest of the lemmings, I have decided to carve my own path.
My thirst for knowledge, new experiences and willingness to step off the beaded path has given me the opportunity to enjoy life and meet a wonderfully eclectic array of personalities. One thing I do lack is more travel. My voyages have only led me to a handful of areas within the US (mostly the west coast) and Mexico. So, let the games begin!!!

PHILOSOPHY

Work to live, don’t live to work. It seems like so many people worry about getting to the next level that they forget to enjoy the one they are currently at. True, life does throw us many challenges, but it also throws opportunities. If you don’t slow down sometimes, the challenges might become the only thing you see.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently in the process of traveling and meeting new friends. When I get back, I hope to be given the chance to spread the same hospitality that has been given to me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Actually, I’ve been CouchSurfing for the past six months or so (I like to call it being the “guy on the couch”). I recently moved back to Sacramento from Los Angeles, where I was the “guy who supplied his own couch to sleep on.” Before that, I let a friend crash on the couch so he could finish his education, while the hippy before him taught me how to blow glass. I think that’s a pretty good trade!!

Interests

As mentioned before, I am a studio artist. I am also an amateur photographer who enjoys capturing stories, nature and man-made structures. When I’m not spending time with my family and friends, I like to go explore the outdoors with my son (dog) Charlie.

Music, Movies, and Books

As for movies, I love comedies (especially with stupid humor), action (but not with too much CGI) and movies that make you think. I love just about any type of music, except for techno (It’s just too repetitive for me).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed Mt.Shasta, hiked to the top of Mt.Tallac in Tahoe, got to see Yellowstone 1 week before the big fire in the 80's and caught a bullet with my teeth. Actually, the last one isn't true, but I have seen it done in the movies and it was amazing!!

Teach, Learn, Share

Feel free to throw anything my way, and I will do the same after my first trip in October : )
