Hello! My name is Ryan DeMars and I am a study abroad student from the United States. I currently live in Ireland at Maynooth University where I am studying Chemistry with a minor in Biology. I like to meet new people and hope to explore the world someday! I've been all around London and parts of Ireland, and want to keep the journey going by exploring as many places as I can while I'm here in Europe. I'm polite, like to keep my things neat, and I love to cook as well!

I absolutely love to be in nature, so hiking while abroad is a must for me. I like to camp, hike, rock climb and boulder (though only beginning to learn how) and basically anything else outside. I like to collect crystals, minerals and some kinds of stones as well. I also like to collect and share stickers, so if you like stickers too or just want one, ill probably have some :D.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm studying abroad in Ireland and plan to visit as many places as I can! I was planning on staying at hostels the whole time but a friend of mine told me about this website, so here I am. I'm just looking for cheap accommodation and to meet like minded travelers, and this gives me both of best worlds! I want to share experiences, learn from people more experienced than me, and get an opportunity to make a few friends in the huge crazy world.

I love classic rock, alternative, classical, and a wide range of other music! My favorite movie is probably the Matirx, John Wick, or Monty Python and I've only started reading more in the past month.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went hiking in both the Rocky and Smokey mountains in the US and it was just absolutely beautiful! The terrain and wild life there are unlike anything else I have experienced and I even had a little chipmunk eat peanuts from my hand!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn new things and always willing to try new things too. I have always wanted to learn sign language and I want to get better at camping on my own (backpacking around Europe). I have a gutar, but never learned how to play so learning how to play that would also be fun!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a hobby of collecting stickers, so there's that, and I love to cook! So I could make breakfast lunch or dinner for everyone if you have a kitchen. I also love movies and have a hard drive full of em, so if you got something that can read an external hard drive, I got plenty of movies to watch!
