Overview
About Me
I grew up in Olympia, WA, and went to Carleton College in southern MN. I live in Boulder, CO, and have worked in wildlife/plant biology, teaching, retail, and trail work.
I live with a roommate, Moss, and we've got both a couch and an air bed, plus plenty of blankets available. We live in north Boulder, which has access to stores, trails, restaurants, bars but if you want to go downtown it's probably a 20 minute bike ride or 40 minute walk. Similar times to campus. I'm working during the week but happy to hang out in the evening and on weekends.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For me meeting people is the best part of traveling, so I'm looking forward to meeting hosts and travelers.
Interests
I live in Boulder and do all the outdoor stuff most people do around here. I also play piano/keyboard, I write some jazz-influenced music but I enjoy learning bossa nova, funk, gospel or other random songs. Would love to jam with hosts or surfers!
I've been involved with soccer in Boulder both as a member of an adult league team and a youth coach.
I'm very interested in ecology and thinking about going back to school for something related to restoration ecology. I studied geology as an undergrad and would love to learn about any cool geologic features in the places I'm traveling.

Not as big of a movie buff but I like Moonlight, Blade Runner, Boyhood, Airplane, anything by Jim Jarmusch or Terrence Malick

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The adventure highlight of my life so far has been the 7 months I spent living in Senegal in 2009/2010. It was a great and very unique experience, and I loved getting to know all the people I lived with there.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to collaborate on music or cooking.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook something for you, wash dishes, be a running/hiking/climbing/skiing partner, maybe jam if you have a keyboard or piano.
