Overview
About Me
My friends would say that I'm a curious soul. I'm always inquisitive and asking questions about almost everything -- I am always looking to understand more about the world around me. This is probably why I love traveling so much, especially meeting and getting to know the people. I also enjoy trying the food of different regions, experiencing the cultural festivals, and learning about the day-to-day lives of people. As a gay man, I'm also interested in learning about what it's like to be gay in the different countries I visit.
I was born and raised in Canada (Vancouver, BC to be precise) and moved to Ottawa (Canada's capital) 8 years ago for work. I enjoy meeting new people, trying all sorts of food, exploring the outdoors and generally being active. To stay in shape, I enjoy working out and swimming. In my recent travels, to Colombia, I got back into scuba diving after being away from the sport for 15 years. It's just too cold in Canada to go diving here! :-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to travel and meet new people for friendship. Through these friendships, I love learning more about their culture, their country, their lives and what it's like to live in their country. This is something that is more difficult to do when staying in a hotel, and when you stay at a hostel, you're mostly meeting other travelers and not the people from the country.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like most genres of movies, except for horror! I guess I'm also a softie as I do enjoy romantic comedies. :-)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was in Costa Rica, I went trekking for 3 days into Corcovado National. Park and saw so many different animals that I didn't even know existed before. One of the most scary things I have done is to cross a river when we knew there were crocodiles in the water. We saw the crocodile slip into the water as we approached, and there were others on the banks of the rivers just further upstream! Not sure if this counts as "amazing", but it was certainly terrifying!
