HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have surfed at a number of people's places but always hoping to make some new CS friends. If you host me, I'll would love to give a private concert, that is if you like live music :)
If you stay with me, I'll still probably play you some music, again, if you like.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I used CS a bit when I was in Europe for 3 months and it definitely gave me a great unique experience. I made some awesome friends, and stayed with the coolest people I would have otherwise never met.
兴趣
I am a singer/songwriter from Berkeley California. Mostly I play the guitar and sing and would definitely consider this to be my passion.
I also thoroughly enjoy reading, writing, hiking, traveling, and meeting people.

音乐、电影和书籍
I love all kinds of music, but mostly listen to indie/rock...
Movies are cool, and so are books; anything Vonnegut or Bukowski...
我做过的一件不可思议的事情
When I went to Peru, I hiked the Inca trail to Machu Picchu. The 4 day trek is through the Andes and this was my first real trip out of the country and I didn't know what to expect... I was pleasantly surprised. The views and the surroundings of all the places I passed and all the things that I saw were just plain exceptional. There were the most amazing cloud forests and all kinds of flowers (including many types of wild orchids) and all the while walking along an ancient stone pathway laid out by the Inca. The path leads through a series of different Inca ruins and ultimately ends at Machu Picchu. Once at the top I continued to ascend up this tower-like mountain called Wayna Picchu, 1200' above Machu Picchu giving you an extreme physical challenge (after hiking for 4 days) as well as the most tremendous view of Machu Picchu, the Andes, and even a river far below making it's way to the Amazon. Peru in general was terrific and the people there are ridiculously friendly. I would definitely recommend this...
Another really memorable instance was on my trip to the East Coast (of US). I was out that way to play some shows, so it was a mini tour of some sort, mixed with pleasure and some visiting. I'd never been to the East and my trip was mapped out to start in Boston, Connecticut, New York City, Philly, New York (again) then back to Boston... I arrived late in Boston and had an Amtrak train ride waiting for me in the early AM... I was taking it to Connecticut. I was there in the fall of 2010 and was really excited to see the famous New England Autumn. Something about that train ride really impressed me. I'd never been on a train in the States before and maybe it was the coffee I'd purchased at the stations McD's, but I was really digging it. I was taking in all these cool old Boston city buildings and colorful graphitti while darting away heading South. I was listening to some of my favorite music at the time (was probably Mumford or Frank Turner or something... oh I think the Shins) and the train was suddenly venturing through the what looked like "wilderness," a wilderness of trees in colors of orange, red, and purple, and small lakes. Then it steadily rolls on through to a series of beach towns stretched along the Atlantic coast (which I had never seen before) and I had my journal in my lap and was writing prose... sounds corny, but let me assure this was it! That train ride was just the beginning of what would be one of the best and most memorable days of my twenties thus far... It's totally strange, but I'd have to go through the whole rest of the day's long list of events. The entire trip overall was nothing shy of amazing and life changing for me. It was one of those experiences that seemed to really make a mark on me, almost a branding of some sort... if we hang I can go into further depth if you care to hear it...
教,学,和分享
I would love to share my music and travel experiences, and maybe a few drinks! Also, if we get the chance, I'd be way down to make breakfast sandwiches :)
