Overview
About Me
I'm young, queer man hitting my stride. I create positive experiences around me, manage my doubts, and do my best to help others. I spend 8 to 10 hours a day working hard building houses for others, and then another bunch of hours creating a safe home and haven for my queer friends and family. I travel to get away from the stress of living in an intentional queer community and also to fall in love with new places and people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I feel compelled to create stories. I love the feeling of bonding with someone from a different culture. I enjoy adventures mundane and grand. And in those quiet moments when I'm at home, I write.
I feel compelled to travel. I enjoy sleeping in a hammock on the side of the road. I've bicycled a thousand mile to find peace. I remember New York city nights on a frozen river, and I dream of warm, abandoned North Carolina's beaches.
I'm going to spend the rest of my life traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a soft spot for sci-fi and animation. I'm always surprise when someone doesn't know what Studio Ghibli. I keep trying to convince my friends to watch dark Sci-Fi filled with practical effects to no avail.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think becoming a role model for my little cousin always feels like the most important thing for me. Part of this journey is to become an even better person for him to look up to.
On a different note, I've worked as a theater production rigger on a traveling tallship before. My job involved climbing 30 feet up into the air hauling lights and speakers and occasionally calming a performer in the middle of a panic attack and not wearing a safety harness.
I've also traveled 1300 miles on a bike from New York City to Charleston, South Carolina. There was no previous training, no planning, and no rational thought. I was heartbroken, stuck in a city thousands of miles away from home, on an adventure that I didn't want to end with the words "then he took a bus home and everything was terrible". So I bought a bike, loaded it with a hammock and a sleeping bag, and took off. I still have pictures!
