ABOUT ME

I have an innate inability to write about myself, so please forgive the following paragraph, it is a paraphrased section of what my girlfriend thinks about me. Basically I am a 22 year old chap from Western Australia, I have just finished my engineering degree which has consumed most of my last 5 years. I live with my girlfriend, our dog, guinea pigs, axolotls and a few fish. I am not generally a clubbing/partying person, preferring pubs and particularly live music as entertainment, though as stated below am up to experience new things particularly in new places or with new people.

I am initially shy but am quick to come comfortable with people. I am somewhat intelligent and believe myself to have a good sense of humour, although I have a propensity towards dry, cynical and often sarcastic forms of wit. I am easy to get along, during my best to be generous and respectful of others, having no patience for bigots and people with superiority complexes. I am always keen to explore and investigate anything that takes my fancy. I love to learn new things and experience every opportunity that comes my way. I enjoy hanging out with people, but am equally comfortable on my own. I have just finished my engineering degree and my upcoming trip will be my last before starting my graduate program. I am a vegetarian and have the utmost regard for animals, though I respect others choices and have no issues with what others chose to do, being far from perfect myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hoping to work my way through Scandinavia getting the lay of the land from the local folk.

When I get back though I am hoping to continue my travels vicariously through other surfers, with my couch being available for other like minded travellers.

Interests

My life has essentially revolved around university for the last five years of my life the other things I spend my time on are;

Music: I attempt to play several instruments most notably bass and play in a local band, in terms of music taste I feel like I have a very broad appreciation of many different genres but am most notably drawn to anything that contains the prefix 'post'. Photography: Generic right? I have just "got into this" as it were after being interested in the field for some time and see the camera as way to further enhance my travels not take away from the experience

Apart from that I am into a whole manner of the things films, books etc. basically the usual things mankind enjoys, particularly anything off-kilter ,"dark", insightful, intriguing, joyous or beautiful but I don't think that I will ever be as well read as I would like to be.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto, went there at night when it was deserted and trekked upwards through the Toriis, it was just a really amazing site, even considering it is dedicated to the patron of business.
