ABOUT ME
My name is Ryan and I am a student at Western Washington University. I just finished a Semester abroad at the American University in Bulgaria. I study literature with an emphasis in creative writing and I hope to one day become a professor of English. One of my life long goals is to publish a book of children's poetry. Currently I work as a conference service assistant in my university residence halls,I focus on building community and fostering hospitality for incoming freshman and new or visiting members to the community. I am a very talkative and curious person, I am always interested in meeting new people and hearing their stories. I can't go anywhere without meeting new people and making new friends. Every time I ride public transportation I end up talking to the people around me.I am always willing to go on adventures sometimes when I am bored at home I will get on a city bus and ride it until I find a place that I would like to spend the day. Last summer I actually made a project out of my aimless bus adventures, I carried a journal with me and every time I made a friend I would ask them to write in it. It ended up being a really cool collective journal full of random thoughts from strangers. I tend to look for the good in people and try to look for the positive in every situation. I have a very large family (3 sisters, 3 step-brothers, 2 step-sisters) We all have very different interests and personalities so I am used to living/interacting with a variety of different people. Another thing that people have continually told me is that I have a very silly sense of humor and I think very random things are hilarious, for example the other day it was very windy outside and I started cracking up because the pigeons were all being pushed off course by the wind.It is very easy to make me laugh.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1.The semester that I just spent in Bulgaria was an incredible experience.I chose to study there because I wanted an adventure and I knew nothing about Bulgaria. I met amazing people and learned a ton!
2. Once I was sitting outside a cafe eating lunch and a bird flew up to me, landed on my arm, sat there for a minute and then flew away again. IT WAS SO COOL. I felt like snow white.
