About Me
Hey, I'm Ryan.
I'm a creative professional in the advertising industry, and a nerd in politics and history. Let's just say, America has seen some better (and, amazingly, worse) days.
I've spent a lot of time traveling around the U.S, and now that I've settled into my job, it's more affordable to travel beyond the border. Meeting other people with other viewpoints and upbringings is the best thing about traveling and I look forward to learning about you.
People are the greatest thing to happen. I identify as gay–so feel free to reject any hosting request if that's a problem. And hopefully it goes without saying, but this isn't a hook up app. I expect all of my host-surfer relationships to be platonic and you should too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
You are the example of decency and humanity.
Interests
Show me the best of where you live. Show me your friends, show me who you are. Nothing is off limits. All questions are allowed.
Music, Movies, and Books
As mentioned, I'm a sponge for history and politics, so most of my reading is non-fiction, but I'm trying to expand my horizons. I like learning about the topics that are popular, but not well understood (e.g. George Washington, Hitler, etc.)
I'm a videographer, photographer and editor, among other crafts. So I can appreciate interesting movies and music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've traveled more than 3,000 miles with a beta fish.

What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a low-maintenance surfer. So, I'm always happy to go with you and do things or to go out on my own. As a solo traveler, I enjoy the solidarity of venturing out alone when the situation allows.
When I'm visiting a new place I like to take in the museums and the other unique cultural sites. But, I usually put relatively little planning into my trip once I've actually arrived. I like to just stumble into new things and people. Let me know if there's something I will totally regret not seeing. Tips are always appreciated!
I'm always down for a new, crazy experience.
