About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To write my heart out one word at a time.

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Norther California but recently relocated to New York City. I love to read and write. So much so that I've worked at libraries for almost 10 years and graduated with a BA in English. I spend my free time writing comic scripts, reading anything I can grab, or watching ridiculously dorky movies with my wife of 9 years.

I'm open minded to other's cultures and beliefs and I'm always willing to make new friends. I'm POC & LGBTQ+ friendly. I've been fortunate enough to travel to Australia, Japan, France, and Canada, but I would love to see more of the world. I hope to more of Europe and Asia soon.

PHILOSOPHY

Be beatific and you'll be beautiful.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd love to show you around New York City. Or if you're just passing through, I can tell you some of theeeeee best places to eat. Seriously, the food here is amazing with a capital ZING!

Unfortunately, I can't accommodate couch surfers with a place to stay. My roommates are not too keen on the idea T___T

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far my Couchsurfing experience is extremely positive. My first time was in Washington state years ago and then in Vancouver the past two years. My wife and I were hosted by a lovely Couchsurfer in Philadelphia when we visited for the weekend last September. There's definitely an irreplaceable charm and sense of bonded friendship that comes out of the friends you make on Couchsurfing. I'm looking forward to meeting more wonderful folks and sharing stories!

Music, Movies, and Books

This is really the worst question to ask a bibliophobe but here are some books that come to mind: Lord of the Rings, Fahrenheit 451, The Dark Tower series, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, On the Road, Harry Potter series, It, Dune, The Beach, The Neverending Story. Favorite Authors: Alan Moore, Jack Kerouac, Stephen King, Garth Ennis, John Steinbeck, Roald Dahl.

Music wise, I listen to everything but mainly rock: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Harvey Danger, Flight of the Conchords, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Spoon, The Flaming Lips, Tenacious D, The Clash, Polaris, Tiger Army, M83, Joe Hisaishi, Daft Punk, Led Zeppelin, The Kinks, Street Dogs, The Strokes, Queens of the Stone Age, Social Distortion. Lately I listen to a lot of soundtracks.

I'm a huge movie nerd too: Big Trouble in Little China, Lord of the Rings, The Goonies, Monster Squad, The Royal Tenenbaums, Willow, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Labyrinth, The Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Fifth Element, Fright Night (original and recent), Howl's Moving Castle, Jaws, Hook, Star Wars (original three), Indiana Jones (original three, again), Ray Harryhausen flicks, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Favorite directors: Wes Anderson, Martin Scorsese, Hayao Miyazaki, John Carpenter, Paul Thomas Anderson.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visited Australia for a month and a half. Got to see nearly the entire continent--Melbourne, Uluru, Cairns, Darwin, Sydney, Tasmania--practically everything besides the west coast. Nothing beats a starry Australian night.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've worked at a library for the past ten years and I'm currently training to become a librarian. Ask me a question and I'll help you find the answer.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm really inquisitive with new friends and love sharing funny stories. I've been told I'm a fairly decent cook, but in all honesty it all depends on the ingredients. I'm politically minded, but I'd rather not get in to heated debates. As I've probably said before, I love most popular forms of entertainment and art and can go on and on and on discussing x, y, z about books, movies, and music ^___^
