Couchsurfing helped me a lot while traveling across Canada in the summer of 2011. I hosted a bit in 2012 when I lived in Fort Nelson (Northern BC, Canada). Now live with my wife and pup in Penticton, BC. Hoping to host again when we have more space.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've couch surfed in Canmore Alberta, Victoria BC, Kingston Ontario, Edmonton Alberta and Whistler BC, and have always had a great experience. I've hosted many people passing through Fort Nelson, mostly on their way to or from Alaska.
