We met in art school circa 2001 and eventually were married in 2016. We've purchased an old house together, went through the taxing process of rehabbing and are mostly close to having it returned to its former glory.

Ryan has a daughter who will be starting college in the fall.

Our political beliefs tend to lean libertarianism. As far as religion goes, as long as you treat others with kindness and respect, no matter whatever belief system you follow you're fine by us.

Like everyone on Couchsurfing we love traveling and meeting new people. We are happy to host whenever possible. We adhere to the philosophy that the vast majority of people are good, despite what you might hear day in and day out to the contrary. Couchsurfing is dependent on that belief.

In addition from our experience the best way to experience a new place is to learn about it from the people who know it best. Couchsurfing provides that opportunity like nothing else.

We've attended the 2007 Pittsburgh Weekender, met several great Couchsurfers from Columbus, and have hosted some wonderful travelers. Ryan traveled down the east coast to Charleston, SC staying with some great and interesting Couchsurfers along the way.

Ryan - I love being active, can't sit still for very long. A perfect weekend would start with a hearty breakfast, a ride into the country on the motorcycle with no destination and no schedule, or perhaps a game of golf with friends followed by a few craft beers at a microbrewery. Always seem to be looking for something new to try, the old jack of all trades master of none mentality.

Kristen - Loves exploring antique shops or getting her hands dirty in the yard. Enjoys nights out with friends, drinking wine, photography, family, and feeding all the neighborhood cats.

Ryan - Never really been good at picking favorites but as far as music goes I'm in to alternative, rock, edm, and bluegrass. Movies, I'm still very fond of the movies from my childhood, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Labyrinth, Midnight Madness, The Dark Crystal, The Last Starfighter, and Star Wars. Might as well throw the Lord of the Rings in there as well.
