Years and years ago there was a girl I had a crush on, and I convinced her to try couchsurfing. Fast forward to the present, she's my wife and she is a way better Couch Surfer than I will ever be. We are working to build community among hosts and others in Orlando in hopes to one day open a full Hospitality House on campus at my church.
For the time being I am not accepting guests. Life is just too crazy after my most recent move. I hope that will change soon.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Like most of us, I started when I was a broke kid who wanted to travel and could not afford a hotel. I had a great experience and payed it forward, and the rest is history.
I love to get people together and create opportunities for people to "Encounter the other". For so much of our lives i feel like we are unintentionally segregated to people who are similar to us. Share similar interests, are of similar socioeconomic statuses. I think it's beautiful when people are able to cross those boundaries and come together.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm currently reading Getting Things Done, by David Allen and rereading Sit, Walk, Stand by Watchman Nee.
I'm not sure i'm equipped to pick all time favorites right now.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I bicycled down the pacific coast with my best friend
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm interested in the Christian Church, what it has been, and what it could be. And i want to hear from and discuss those ideas with people who both come from within the church, and also those who have limited experience, or negative experience with it. All those experiences are valuable and informative for me.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Generally when I am traveling I try to run lean and keep an open mind. I don't have particular expectations of what my host should allow me to share with them, and instead let them direct the evening mostly.
Of course, I'll pick up the tab for dinner!
