About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn from others, eat well, enjoy the complexities of life in wild and urban environments alike

ABOUT ME

After moving to Vermont in 2010, I completed a graduate program at the University of Vermont, and taught at South Burlington High School. I now work for a wonderful environmental educational organization called Shelburne Farms, where I lead education programs and professional development for teachers. I love cycling, hiking, cooking, and enjoying good food and beverage with friends, and spending time exploring the wilderness and cities of the world.

I have just finished up a whirlwind of travel in the last two years after finishing college and teaching high school for one year (I decided that could wait a little bit - but I do love it!).

After a bit of travel in the US, I backpacked through Central America for four months, and returned to Vermont (USA) for a bit to work and save for the next adventure.

More recently, I have been on the move through four continents, starting in the USA, then first to Chile and Argentina for a mountaineering expedition. Next, I spent three months in Italy working on a friend's family farm helping raise pigs in Tuscany. Finally, I toured about Southeast Asia visiting friends who live in Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand.

PHILOSOPHY

"Every morning I awaken torn between the desire to save the world, and the inclination to savor it. This makes it hard to plan the day." - E.B. White

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In my previous house in Burlington, our house hosted a dozen or so surfers during those two years. I love it, and am always into hosting people and learning from them and sharing what I know.

Interests

Road cycling, mountain biking, coffee, tea, beer, wine, food from all over the world. Talking all through the night about anything and everything. Dancing, hiking, walking endlessly through a new (or familiar) city... So much more.

I love to share experiences with people - it's what makes my world go round!
