ABOUT ME

Since very little I have been very adventurous and wasn´t willing to live inside a box. At the age of 14, I decided to apply for an exchange student program, and I got accepted and spent a full year in Fort Smith, Arkansas in 1991-1992. It was an eye opening experience, and since then I was ready to take on any more adventures in my life.

Tired of plain working in Hong Kong, I went to Peru to work as a volunteer in an orphanage for a year in 2010. While working, I do spend some time traveling around South America and the rest of the world. I loved the experience, and decided to go back for another year of volunteering service in July 2012.

PHILOSOPHY

One thing that taught me from working with people with disabilities is that we should love people despite their defects. We all have flaws and defects, no matter if we have a disability or not. Love, despite everything.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I met a traveller in Cartagena, Colombia in November 2010 who introduced this project to me. After I read about it, I realize that this project will make travelling much more meaningful and can really bring out what travelling is all about, meeting nice people from all over the world and learning about their cultures, values, languages and customs.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It is the most fun traveling experience! I met so many terrific people and we became firm friends! It's so amazing!

TV: I don´t watch TV anymore, but I do enjoy some programs:
FRIENDS .... I can rewatch over and over again and still enjoy it
AbFab .... Love the British humour on this one
Miss Universe .... loved to watch it and still do since little. love the countries, languages, gowns, test of your sensibility about the world in 15 seconds, beautiful (and sometimes not so pretty) girls from all over the world. I guess I love the idea of unifying the world and celebrating our differences... Isn't what CS all about? LOL

I´m a behavioral therapist for children, so I´m expert on that, especially people with Autism.
I can teach English and Chinese for those who are interested.
I studied aromatherapy, yoga and some new age stuff that we can share.
I´m trying to improve my Portuguese, French and Italian.
I´m not a professional chef, but love cooking, and I can definitely share :)
I also studied fashion design, and love to talk about fashion.
I´m currently learning surfing, and absolutely love it!
