ABOUT ME

I'm a do-it-yourselfer, a thinker, and a laugher.
I like my coffee black and I love a good beer.
I'm easy-going and when traveling I stick to a strict policy of low-maintenance and independence.

After several years of working in concert production for classical music organizations I've decided to go back to school to study ethnomusicology. My two main academic interests are in the music of the Middle East and Turkey, and the relationships between music and Islam. But don't let that fool you, I'm actually a fun guy!

I lived in Cairo for a little while. Camping in the White Desert was one of the most beautiful experiences I've ever had.

I think I'm pretty much equal parts "heady" and "handy." My current goal is to become a music professor but I'm as much at home wielding a wrench or a hammer as I am a saxophone. Perhaps more than anything I'm willing to learn!
